Brief presentation of existing legislation on the qualitative and quantitative characterization of waste produced in cruise ships. State of the art on ship waste management and treatment systems. Cost evaluation.

Therefore, this lecture will face:

  • International legislation on waste produced on ship;
  • The waste treatment chain in cruise ships;
  • Waste collection;
  • Treatment of the waste;
  • Waste Storage;
  • Waste discharges from ship to ground;
  • Evaluation of waste treatment costs produced by the cruise ship.

Aims and intended learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to provide the basic concepts on waste treatment legislation, their management and treatment. A brief note of the cost analysis aspects of waste on cruise ships is illustrated.
